How often do you overstretch yourself, giving a lot to everybody else? You are always trying to please your friends and family. But you always forget about your own self. Do you ever feel the need to ask yourself:

“What about me?”

Repeat this question very often because it’s very important. Too often we forget about our own selves.

Imagine driving a car without any fuel. That’s what we do to our own selves when we try to please everybody. There are limitations of how much you can give to everybody else. If you overdo, you get tired, ill and anxious because you always worry:

“Have I done enough? Will that be good enough?”

Some people will never truly appreciate it, maybe because it’s not what they really needed: it was just your assumption. And, actually, there’s only so much you can do.

So, don’t overstretch yourself because you matter. And there’s only one of you. So, make a commitment and say:

“I am enough and I’m doing the best I can with what I’ve got. But I am important, I matter”.

Go and find things that you enjoy, that you always wanted to do. Give yourself a fun and relaxed time, spend it with your friends and family. Whatever rocks your boat.

Value yourself.

Allow yourself to take care of your own needs as well as helping others improve your life when you pay more attention to yourself. You will notice a change in how you feel and how you view the world.

You can’t live with the worry that people won’t accept you or won’t like you because nor even you like everybody you come across or you meet. So, how do you expect everybody to like you?

Just focus on the people you enjoy and put yourself first.

I know it sounds selfish but it’s a positive selfishness because if you look after yourself first, you can actually give a lot more to the others.

Just enjoy yourself, make sure that you look after yourself and you meet your own needs and be happy when you can help, but don’t overdo. Don’t go overboard and worry about haven’t done enough. Always think:

“I did the best I could with what I had”

and learn how to say no, also, sometimes.
